My Story

Jessica Murphy has spent fifteen years as an educator, teaching combined English and Art classes where she discovered the profound connections between classical literature and artistic expression. Her passion for helping students see the timeless patterns in human storytelling led her to write The Muse's Shadow, exploring how mythological themes continue to resonate through the lives of history's greatest artists.

Murphy holds degrees in both Literature and Art Education, and her interdisciplinary approach reflects her belief that the boundaries between academic subjects are far more fluid than traditional education suggests. She has presented her work at various educational conferences and continues to develop innovative ways to help students understand the interconnectedness of human creative expression.

When she’s not teaching or writing, Murphy can usually be found wandering art museums, reading fiction or dystopian novels, or spending time outdoors, soaking up the kind of landscapes that tend to spark new ideas. She runs on coffee, probably too much of it, and lives with her family while continuing to explore where art, literature, and everyday human experience overlap.
